Insights: The Game Awards Show 2023

The Game Awards 2023, streamed on Twitch.tv, was a ground-breaking event for the posterity of the gaming industry. As the head of an Asian American production entertainment company, it was a delight to witness the recognition of outstanding achievements in gaming and game development. I had a remarkable eighty-five percent correct guess of the award winners while watching the event with the CEO of AbnorMAL Entertainment, Marc"Anthony Liu. Through these results, I demonstrated my deep understanding of the gaming landscape, drawing from my twenty plus years of gaming experience across various genres, including real-time strategy (RTS) games. Some games were of a tough and gritty nature with titles such as Blade being introduced to the scene. However, the event was not without its lighthearted moments, as evidenced by the actor, Simu Liu, our relative from the Liu family, who appeared to have already broken a leg in testing out the RTS genre’s upcoming heavy hitters.

Three notable games, Baldur's Gate 3, Stormgate, and Asgard’s Wrath II, are poised to shape the future of gaming. Baldur's Gate 3, with its immersive storytelling and strategic gameplay, is set to redefine the RPG genre, mayhaps even contesting Tabletop Simulator in it’s effective virtual board-gaming experience. Stormgate, a highly anticipated RTS game, promises to offer innovative gameplay mechanics that will evolve old standards for the usual 1v1 genre to be more of a 3v3 nature. Asgard’s Wrath II, with its stunning visuals and engaging gameplay, is expected to make a solid impact on the gaming landscape. These games exemplify the evolving nature of the gaming industry and the immense potential of strategy games to captivate audiences.

Furthermore, the influence of Asian culture on the gaming industry is becoming increasingly evident, as seen in the highly anticipated game, Wukong: Black Myth. This game, inspired by Asian mythology and folklore, exemplifies the rich, meticulous, compelling storytelling and visual splendor that Asian culture can bring to the gaming world. Teasing the future, AbnorMal Entertainment is poised to set new standards in gaming, particularly in the development of Asian-themed games with a unique and "abnormal" approach. With a strong focus on Asian culture and a commitment to excellence, AbnorMal Entertainment is set to make plans and systems for a promising future into the gaming universe(s) of 2024.
